Joseph Strege, 76, of Williston, passed away at CHI Saint Alexius Medical Center in Williston on Monday afternoon, January 1, 2018.
Joseph Melvin Strege was born in Wyndmere, North Dakota on November 1, 1941 to Otto and Syrtle (Solberg) Strege. He lived in the Eastern part of North Dakota until moving to Williston in 1989.
In his younger years, Joe enjoyed doing janitorial work and later he enjoyed his job at the Williston Recycling Center where he worked until his retirement in 2008.
Joe enjoyed going on vacations to new places and visiting with his family in Fargo and having a cup of morning coffee with his friends at Opportunity Foundation. He enjoyed the simple things in life and never a day went by that he didn’t have a smile on his face. He lived and enjoyed life to the fullest!
Surviving Joe are two brothers, Richard (Marlys) Strege and Steve (Cindy) Strege both of Fargo; sister, Emelie Johnson of Minnetonka, MN and sisters-in-law, Mildred Strege of Lidgerwood, ND and Colleen Strege of Wyndmere, ND.
Preceding Joe in death were his parents, Otto and Myrtle; seven brothers, LaVerne, Howard, Merlin, Orvis, Elmer, Claude and James; and three sisters, Inez, Rachel and Leonora Strege.
His Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, January 5, 2018 at the Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home Chapel in Williston. Rev. D.D. Puckett will officiate.
Friends may call at the Everson-Coughlin Funeral Home one hour before his service on Friday.
Interment in Immanuel Lutheran Cemetery in Lidgerwood, North Dakota will take place at a later date.
