Deepest sympathy to all of Jim's family. He was not only my boss, but an example of family, faith and community commitment. The photo on this site displays perfectly his personality. A huge loss to so many who were blessed to share his life, his wisdom and wit. Sorry I was unable to attend his service but know our prayers are with all the family.

Farewell to one of the most quick witted people on the planet. At one time he asked Coral Whisenand and I to plan his funeral, including a raffle of his sweatshirts, Coyote pep song as the recessional followed by a slushburger lunch in St. Joe’s parking lot. That was Jim Leinen!o

To the Leinen Family, we are sorry to learn of Jim’s passing. He is the last of the football “chain gang” as I remember them. A true coyote supporter in all sports. Kathi your commitment as a care giver to your parents these past years is amazing. Our thoughts and prayers to all

To all of Mr. Leinen’s children. Each of you was so blessed to have this good, good man as your father. He was a pillar of the community and a man all the kids looked up to, myself included. He left smiles on the faces of everyone he encountered. He is now with his beloved wife which I hope gives you all peace.

It was with great sorrow that I learned of Jim’s passing. I realize, however, he was at peace, and was ready to rejoin Darlene. Think of the fun they are having no longer bound by the bodies that showed the mileage of their many, many years. There is so much I could say, but know that I am thinking of you, and hoping your own peace comes quickly.

Jim was a great human being, full of love and humor. Our family was fortunate to live across the street for several years and he was the real deal! Another of the Greatest Generation gone, and more importantly, a real loss to everyone, whether you knew him or not.

My deepest sympathy to the entire Leinen family for the loss of this great man that some of you were so blessed to get to call "Dad" or "Grandpa" - maybe "father-in-law" but I am pretty sure he would have preferred if you called him Dad. I got the honor of providing some care to Jim when he was at home and from the moment I walked into their home I felt a sense of welcome. All of those family pictures that he surrounded himself with - and he new the stories and the dates behind every one of them! Yes, Chris. I agree with you that you are all better people because of those 2 wonderful people. May they rest in peace together now. God Bless the memory of Jim and Darlene.
